I am a last born
I am a child of the 80s.
I am a techno-geek.
I shop a lot.
I am hard-headed, stubborn and often pernickety.
I am a lawyer.
I learnt how to be responsible financially, now I'm learning to be savvy.
My attention-span needs work - it's a work-in-progress.
I am a creature of habit.
Three years ago, I graduated from law school. I packed my bags and moved out of my beloved London to the north of England. I did this to pursue my career goal of becoming a qualified lawyer.
I am working worked my way out of debt in the latter part of 2009 and I talked a lot about that. Compared to other Personal Finance bloggers I didn't have much debt, but it was enough for me. I dented the finances a bit more by moving out, but eventually, everything came together.
My journey out of debt did not include noting down everything I spent or forcing myself to live off a certain amount. It was about understanding the big picture - where the money was going and where it needed to be going. I appreciate that I need to save, but I also appreciate that I need to be happy. Happiness includes but is not limited to: taking vacations, going back to London regularly and shopping.
I moved back to London in 2010and I haven't looked back since. I am working hard for the things I want.
I am partial to hobbies and projects – I work hard at finishing what I start, though I don't always make it. I have a 5-year plan to get to where I want. Things are going very well though we have had to reassess and adjust, the unaltered final objective remains attainable.
